Who I am
This policy covers www.mkuzmenko.dev (the “Site”), run by Maksym Kuzmenko, based in Germany. I am the data controller for any personal data the Site processes. Contact: contact@mkuzmenko.dev.
The short version
The Site has no accounts, no forms and no ads. It doesn’t set cookies. The only personal data involved is what any web request carries, such as your IP address and browser details, handled by the hosting provider below.
What is stored on your device
When you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key “theme”. It stays on your device, is never sent to me, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings. Because you ask for this by clicking the toggle, no consent is needed (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
When you copy the prompt on the main page, it goes to your clipboard only. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Hosting
The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, run by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, Cloudflare processes request data, such as your IP address, user agent, the pages you request and the time of the request, to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse.
Cloudflare processes this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Article 45 GDPR), and the data processing agreement also includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Article 46 GDPR). See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Fonts
All fonts are hosted on this Site itself. No font is loaded from Google, Adobe or any other third party, so no data goes to them when you view a page.
AI links
The main page has links that open an AI chat service with a pre-written prompt about me. Nothing is sent to any of these services unless you click a link. Once you do, you are on their website, and that provider handles your data under its own privacy policy:
- Claude by Anthropic: privacy policy
- ChatGPT by OpenAI: privacy policy
- Le Chat by Mistral AI: privacy policy
- DeepSeek by DeepSeek: privacy policy
- Perplexity by Perplexity AI: privacy policy
- Grok by xAI: privacy policy
- Kimi by Moonshot AI: privacy policy
DeepSeek and Kimi are based in China, which the EU does not recognise as having an adequate level of data protection.
Contacting me
If you email me, I use your email address and what you write only to reply to you (Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). I delete it once the conversation is over, unless I have to keep it for legal reasons.
Legal basis and retention
Request data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): serving the Site and keeping it secure. I don’t keep request data myself. Cloudflare keeps it for the periods set out in its own policies.
You don’t have to provide any personal data. Without the technical request data, though, your browser can’t load the Site. The Site makes no automated decisions about you and does no profiling.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data I hold about you (Article 15);
- have it corrected (Article 16) or deleted (Article 17);
- restrict how it is used (Article 18);
- receive it in a portable format (Article 20);
- complain to a data protection authority (Article 77). Mine is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW), but you can also contact the authority where you live.
To use any of these rights, email contact@mkuzmenko.dev.
Right to object
Where I process your data based on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object to this at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). I will then stop, unless I can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Children
The Site is not aimed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data about them.
